Words (and toots)

In 2 days I will be 19 weeks old. That's nearly 5 months! Time certainly flies by when you are having as much fun as I am. Today, I thought I would add up how many words I know - and I ran out of paws. I had to count each paw twice, and then my tail, because I know 9 words. They are:

  • Dougal - my name!
  • Come - run as fast as possible to Mum or Dad
  • Sit - put my bottom on the ground and don't move it until I'm told another word
  • No - stop whatever I am doing (usually something naughty!!)
  • Bed - go into my bed
  • Fetch - run to a ball or dummy, pick it up and take it back to Mum or Dad
  • Give - give Mum or Dad whatever is in my mouth
  • Drop - drop whatever is in my mouth on the floor (usually something horrible Mum and Dad don't want to touch!)
  • OK - playtime!

I also know that Good Boy means Mum or Dad are pleased with me!

Although Mum and Dad mainly talk to me in words sometimes they use a whistle. One little toot on the whistle means the same as sit, and 4 toots on the whistle means the same as come. Being such a clever chap I've picked this up really quickly. It's all great fun and I just love all the attention (and treats!) I get when we are practicing words and toots.
